You can rent your storage unit online or by contacting our office. Please ensure you have access to your email during the call to electronically sign the lease and insurance agreements.

What documentation do I need to rent storage?

You will need a valid form of government-issued ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or state ID. If storing a vehicle (car, motorcycle, RV, or boat), a copy of the current vehicle registration is also required.

When can I move in?

After renting your storage unit, you will receive a gate code. You can move in anytime during the facility’s access hours.

What are the facility’s access hours?

Access hours are daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. 24-hour access is available for an additional fee of $10 per month.

Am I required to store long-term?

Our lease operates on a month-to-month basis, offering you flexibility for both short-term and long-term storage.

What security measures are in place?

The facility is secured with an electronic access gate. However, please note that Reed Storage does not provide additional security measures such as guard services.

Why can’t I open my unit?

If you encounter issues opening your storage unit, make sure to press down on the door handle when unlatching it. For added security, you are responsible for providing and managing your own lock.

Is lock provided?

You must provide your own lock to secure your unit. Double-locking is not permitted, and only approved locksmiths can remove locks for a fee if necessary.

What items am I not allowed to store?

The following items are prohibited: perishables, food, plants, animals, stolen or illegal goods, flammable or hazardous materials, and any combustible items or liquids.

Do you plow the snow at the facility?

Snow removal is done as soon as possible after snowfall. While we strive to clear the areas near storage units, there may still be a few inches of snow in front of the doors.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, insurance is mandatory. You can either provide proof of your own insurance or enroll in the Storage Protection Plan we offer in-house for an additional monthly fee.

Why do I need to sign this insurance agreement if I bought coverage?

The insurance agreement is mandatory with Reed Storage. If you enroll in our Protection Plan, no additional proof of insurance is required.

How should I pack my storage unit?

We recommend placing items like cardboard boxes on pallets or using plastic tubs to avoid moisture absorption from the concrete floors. Organize your unit according to your needs, and consult our blog for additional packing tips.

How do I pay my storage bill?

Pay your bill online via credit or debit card. Autopay setup is required when you rent a storage unit.

What happens if I’m late making a payment?

Rent is due on the 1st of each month with a 5-day grace period. Late payments will incur a $20 fee and your unit will be overlocked until the payment is received.

How long after my account is delinquent will my belongings go to auction?

Your items may be auctioned if your account is delinquent for more than 45 days.

How much notice needs to be given before I move out?

You are required to provide a 10-day verbal notice or a 15-day written notice before moving out. On the move-out day, ensure your unit is completely empty, secure it with your lock, and return any extra locks to the designated dropbox.
